Muringa powder

Muringa or Moringa is one of the most overlooked and undervalued super food in the country. Available in abundance from the snowy slopes of Himalayas to the fertile plains of Kerala, Muringa is a cheap, yet a powerhouse of nutrients. The Moringa Oleifera or simply the muringa plant is often called the ‘miracle plant and rightly so. The nutritional density of muringa is so high that it can be easily used as a nutrient supplement on its own. The leaves, fruits (drumsticks) and seeds of the plant are commonly used in dishes which imparts a unique earthy flavour similar to spinach. Muringa is called ‘Sahjan’ in Hindi and “horseradish” in English. Babas Natural Basket Muringa powder is made by grounding sundried muringa leaves, harvested from organically grown muringa plants on the moist, fertile plantations of Wayanad. Cultivation is done purely by traditional organic farming techniques. Processing of the harvest is done using state of the art machines, untouched by human hand which in turn guarantees maximum nutrient retained in the final product. Muringa powder can be easily added into your daily curries and shakes and give it a major boost of essential nutrients. With twice the amount of proteins than milk, thrice the amount of iron than spinach, seven times more potassium than bananas and insane levels of other nutrients, it is truly a champion among super foods by quite a margin. Muringa has proved its worth in fighting malnutrition in countries like Zambia. Muringa is used to augment breast milk in lactating mothers, as a potential anti-oxidant, detoxing agent, antiinflammatory/anti-microbial agent, reduce blood pressure and as a coagulant in water treatment. These therapeutic benefits offered by muringa are the foundation for many traditional remedies for treating inflammation, malnutrition, detoxing and even diabetes. These notable qualities have inspired many scientific studies aimed at studying the benefits offered by this humble wonder plant
